Voice text messaging is simply the ability to send a text message to a friend with purely voice commands. With speech to text software, the Entune system will be able to type out your message, and then with other voice commands you will be able to actually send the text message to a friend... all in the name of safety so that the user never has to take their eyes off the road to operate the Entune system!

The Entune system will also read back incoming SMS messages out loud using it's synthetic sounding voice.

Does anyone know when the text, email and picture options will be available for the Tacoma's? As of now, all options are grayed out and not accessible.

I thought they were available? Maybe it's a compatibility issue with your phone? What phone do you have, and what version of Entune do you have in your Tacoma?

I have an HTC Evo 4G. My Entune is the only version Tacomas come with, the HDD version is not available for that model. My phone app says Version 1.0.14.23302
I have heard there might be a compatibility issue. Something about Bluetooth MAP (Message Access Profile).

I have a 2012 Toyota tundra with hdd entune. I have a Nokia lumina 920 windows phone. I received a text message while driving. The message was read over the radio, and I was able to respond with voice. I don't know if it was the phone or entune that provided the function. I have only had the phone for a week and have not fully tested it. There is no entune app for this phone, but the functionality is very good so far. I just can't use the entune apps. All music data streamed from the phone is displayed on the entune system.
