I have paired my Samsung Droid Charge and my Prius v successfully, and have phone, internet and music functioning. Problem is, the bluetooth connection drops and reconnects randomly, even in the middle of a call. Talking away on Entune speakerphone, when suddenly the call switches to the phone, so I pickup the phone and talk, then a minute later, its back on the Entune speakerphone. Seems flakey. Thinking there might be a reception issues, I tried resting the phone in the bin below the dash, on the dash and in the cup holder, no difference apparent. Any thoughts? Any Toyota people on this forum?

I don't think it's a signal issue, since bluetooth is rated for at least 5-10 meters. Plus, if it's only happening during phone calls then it's definitely not a signal issue or it would happen during music too.

Did you check out Toyota's connect site? I had a brief look, and the Samsung Charge isn't listed, which means it hasn't been tested, which means Toyota doesn't guarantee or even say it will work with the Toyota Entune system.... sorry!

It sounds similar to the issues that Entune has playing nice with the iphone, it might be a good idea just to connect via USB.

Thank you for your thoughts.

I already requested confirmation from Toyota of support for the Charge by model number, and it confirms support. Charge is a localized name for several models in the SCH-i500 line (SCH-i510).

I already tried USB connection. The phone seems to get confused, thinking it is connected as a computer peripheral rather than a phone, and it does not seem to want to charge that way either. I need to keep the phone charging in the car, due to crappy battery life.

I too have a Droid Charge & Prius v. Only once did I lose connection w/ my bluetooth, but I was pushing buttons & doing other stuff, so I could have done it myself.

My issue is not being able to download my contacts. I get to the screen where it tells me that it is starting it, get a notice on my phone about 'phone book request received' or something like that, but then car says d/l failed.

I can make a call no problem w/ the voice command.

We should start a Prius v/Droid Charge club. (PvDC?)

So I have been using this for several weeks now, both before and after an OS update that came in for the phone. Before the update, I had to restart the Bluetooth stack when it started flaking out. This would stop the problem. After the update, I discovered that if I pair *from the phone* rather than from Entune, I have no issues . In fact, now I get a beep from the phone a few seconds after I enter the car, indicating that the phone has found the car and connected. I still have to start the Entune app on the phone before I can use an internet connection, but I think that is normal.

I too have had continual issues with sync'ing my phone book. It seems to get some contacts, but not all. I just keep at it until it seems to be accurate. I have 850 contacts, which might be part of the problem.

All my attempts have come post OS update.

As soon as my display comes on in car, I get notification that it pairs up w/ phone (as long as BT is active). Only that one time so far did I get a disconnect, but as I said, I was diddling around w/ stuff, so I could have done it by accident.

I'll still keep trying w/ the contact sync. I get varying levels of fail - from immediate failure, a delay & then failure, to a very brief message of 'downloading contacts' to finally a failure. My list is not nearly as extensive as yours, but alas, 0 imported thus far.
